Over a month, but i made it back
Matthew 6:16-18 and Jesus said:
“Whenever you fast,
do not put on a gloomy face as the hypocrites do,
for they neglect their appearance
so that they will be noticed by men when they are fasting.
Truly I say to you,
they have their reward in full.
But you,
when you fast,
anoint your head and wash your face
so that your fasting will not be noticed by men,
but by your Father who is in secret;
and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you.”
{{ man has taken fasting and made it a thing about food, diet and health.
In GOD’s word we are given examples of what fasting is supposed to be,
2 Chronicles 20:3
Used to turn ones attention to seek the LORD,
Ezra 8:21
that we might humble ourselves before our God to seek from Him
Ester 4:16
fast for me; do not eat or drink for three days, night or day.
In Isaiah 58
we are told to fast to make our voice heard on high,
To fast is to take a day for a man to humble himself before GOD,
To loosen the bonds of wickedness,
To let the oppressed go free
And break every yoke
In Jeremiah
A fast is to be proclaimed before the LORD.
Fasting is to be something between you and GOD,
Not something to make you seen by mankind.
But rather by The LORD your GOD..
And in Matthew 17
We are told that there are spiritual things
that can only be dealt with,
through faith and prayer and fasting.
Man has taken fasting and made it a money maker
an average book store sells on average $54,000.00 a year
just on books about fasting.
And rather than fasting being about getting direction from
The LORD it has become about food, diet and health.
satin has taken what GOD intended
And turned it in to just another human desire to make money.
Leaving Father God and our Lord Jesus out of the equation. }}

This is from Matthew 6:16
The Holy Spirit impressed in me that any time we do something
to be noticed by mankind we are
taking the spotlight off of Christ and putting it upon our selves.
Looking to make our lives about us instead of about Him.
This may seem like a little thing
but is only the tip of the ice burg of the downfall,
As Christians our lives should always be a reflection of Christ and His love.
Not of us and what we have, have dun or become.
Just as the moon reflects the light from the sun at night,
The christian is to be the refection of the Son, Christ Jesus,
If your life is not reflecting the life of Christ Jesus
than you've missed the point of being a Christian.
For being a true Christian is not about you,
it should be about Christ Jesus and His gift of salvation,
and plan for our redemption.
His mercy, grace and love.
Take an honest look at your life,
who or what are you reflecting?
