Well nine days have passed hope you have had time to read think over and even start practicing what the Lord has said in Mathew 5.
Today we move on to Matthew 6

Giving to the Poor
Mat 6:1 -4
“Beware of practicing your righteousness before men to be noticed by them; otherwise you have no reward with your Father who is in heaven. So when you give to the poor, do not sound a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, so that they may be honored by men. Truly I say to you, they have their reward in full. But when you give to the poor, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving will be in secret; and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you.”

Prayer
Mat 6:5-16
“When you pray, you are not to be like the hypocrites; for they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and on the street corners so that they may be seen by men. Truly I say to you, they have their reward in full.
But you, when you pray, go into your inner room, close your door and pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you.
And when you are praying, do not use meaningless repetition as the Gentiles do, for they suppose that they will be heard for their many words.
So do not be like them; for your Father knows what you need before you ask Him.
Pray, then, in this way:
Our Father who is in heaven, Hallowed be Your name.
Your kingdom come.
Your will be done, On earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.’

For if you forgive others for their transgressions, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.
But if you do not forgive others, then your Father will not forgive your transgressions.

Do you do things for others so that you can be seen, so that they will look up to you as a great kind and generous person?

When you give a gift to someone weather rich or poor do you do it to benefit them or you’re self?

If you have to do it in front of others or you have to tell others what you have done your motives need to be checked.

When we pray to the Father it should be personal between Him and us not a show case to try and make others think we are a great person or that we may have a higher connection with God than they do.

On a scale of 1 to 10 we are all 5’s not one of us is better than another and to do things to try and make others think we are can be seen by all and not only do we receive our reward from man instead of God, most time it will end up with the others who ever they may be looking down on the one trying to be seen or thought more of. And we still lose the reward from heaven because we received it from man even though it was only for a short time, Gifts from Father God are forever gifts from mad fade away.

When you pray, go into your inner room, close your door and pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you.

This concept is alive and well in all aspects of your life, keep your relationship with Christ personal, it is not to be flaunted before man, but instead your life should be lived holy before man so that men may see the glory of Christ shin through you, by what you do day by day moment by moment when you think no one is watching.

One thing i have noticed in a lot of Christians they are willing to help others if it means they can be seen doing so but when it comes to helping someone and no one will know about it they do nothing, and sadly there are a lot of churches out there who work in the same manner.

Go forth be generous and caring for those in need but do it in secret don’t let the world know what you have done, and wait for your reward from Father God you will be greatly blessed with a reward from heaven that will never fade away

Hodgepenny

As time went on He just sat, knoqing, knowing what no one else seemed to know.

But staring in to the red leave's He knew spring was on it's way, and that His life would go on as He reflected on the Love He had felt.

And that no mater how the lonely streets desended upon Him He would continue to shin, as He sat their He could be heard sining softly to Himself,   This little light of mine.

Hodgepenny's philosphy has always been take care of home first, only give to those who are truly in need, never, No never take anything that you have not earned. always spend as much time with the Father as you can, for His love will guide and keep you through all things, and this will make your life better than great.
