Mat 22:36-40
In Mat 22:36 Jesus was asked
“Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”
And in Mat 22:37-40 He gives a simple straight forward answer
And He said to him,
This is the greatest and foremost commandment. The second is like it, YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF. On these two commandments hangs the whole Law and the Prophets.”
So maybe we should get Gods definition of what love is; In 1st Corinthians 13:4-8 Paul lays it out for us
1Co 13:4-8
Love is patient,
Love is kind,
Love is not jealous,
Love does not brag
Love is not arrogant,
Love does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered,
Love does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth;
Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, and endures all things.
Love never fails
In John 15:12-13 Jesus gives us the ultimate sing of love
“This is My commandment, that you love one another, just as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends.”
Then in John 15:15-16 Jesus goes on and explains how He views us
John 15:15-16
“No longer do I call you slaves, for the slave does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I have heard from My Father I have made known to you. You did not choose Me but I chose you, and appointed you that you would go and bear fruit, and that your fruit would remain, so that whatever you ask of the Father in My name He may give to you.”
In John 15:17 He gives us the commandment that is second overall commandments.
“This I command you, that you love one another.”
Some great scalier say Jesus was just speaking to Him disciples when He said these things, ok ill give you that but if you call yourself a Christian then you are a disciple of Jesus
Definition of the word disciple:
one who accepts and assists in spreading the doctrines or teachings of another
As a believer in Christ we fallow after His teachings and are to share the Lord with others; to be His disciples to this world.
As His disciple we are directed to Love one another this is to the disciples of Christ for if we show love one to another then the world can see what the love of Christ is truly like and be drawn in to His love and in to salvation.
Think about it,
how s your love?
Does your love look like the love described in 1st Corinthians 13 or does it resemble the love of the world the opposite of 1st Corinthians 13?
Take a deep look in to how you show love.
Go forth and share the love of Christ with others and be blessed.

As time went on He just sat, knoqing, knowing what no one else seemed to know.

But staring in to the red leave's He knew spring was on it's way, and that His life would go on as He reflected on the Love He had felt.

And that no mater how the lonely streets desended upon Him He would continue to shin, as He sat their He could be heard sining softly to Himself,   This little light of mine.

Hodgepenny's philosphy has always been take care of home first, only give to those who are truly in need, never, No never take anything that you have not earned. always spend as much time with the Father as you can, for His love will guide and keep you through all things, and this will make your life better than great.
