Matthew 6:19-34
¶ “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal.
But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal;
for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
¶ “The eye is the lamp of the body;
so then if your eye is clear, your whole body will be full of light.
But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness.
If then the light that is in you is darkness, how great is the darkness!
¶ “No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and wealth.
¶ “For this reason I say to you, do not be worried about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink;
nor for your body, as to what you will put on.
Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?
Look at the birds of the air, that they do not sow, nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them.
Are you not worth much more than they?
And who of you by being worried can add a single hour to his life?
And why are you worried about clothing?
Observe how the lilies of the field grow;
they do not toil nor do they spin, yet I say to you that not even Solomon in all his glory clothed himself like one of these.
But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace,
will He not much more clothe you?
You of little faith!
Do not worry then, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear for clothing?’
For the Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.
But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself.
Each day has enough trouble of its own.”

We are such an ungrateful people;
Calling our self Christian (Christ like) but yet striving after, gathering and storing up worldly things.
Looking on a man as being successful if he is wealthy.
Looking at the things one has in his possession as wealth.
But in reality the more we try to hold on to in this world the less we have’
Christ Jesus is very clear that our treasure is to be in heaven, for that is the only place that it is safe, and the only treasure that will mater at the end of this life.
We say we serve GOD, but yet gather worldly things we are only deceiving our self.
For as Christ Jesus has stated
“where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”
I believe we all get caught up in this at times, something new grabs our attention and we have the desire to have it.
And rather than to ask Lord is this something I need, we determine in our heart and mind and then say to our selves “I need this”
And then we have one more piece of useless worldly debris laying around.
Wall our account in heaven is lacking.
And our heart is more entwined in the ways of the world.

The stuff and things we own can quickly become our masters,
whether or not we are willing to admit it.
It takes up and dictates how we spent our time and what our attention is focused on.
Who do you serve, or what do you serve?
Be honest and answer the question!
A lot of, well most will say I am not worrying about things I’m just concerned.
Are you concerned about your finaces?
Are you concerned about the state of the world around you?
Definition of worry: feeling or showing worry or solicitude, anxiety or concern
Christ Jesus tells us what a true need is and that being His, living for Him not for self or worldly wants, He has taken care of our needs .
He says:
“For this reason I say to you,
do not be worried about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink;
nor for your body, as to what you will put on.
Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?

The answer?
Have faith in Father God, have faith in Christ Jesus seek His kingdom and His righteousness.
Store up riches in heaven rather then here on earth.
Be content with what the Lord provides for you,
Stop following after the ways of the world.
Love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind and soul.
Here are just a few times we are told this in the word of GOD:
Deutaronamy 6:5
“You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.”
Deuteronamy 11:1
“You shall therefore love the LORD your God, and always keep His charge, His statutes, His ordinances, and His commandments.”
Deutaronamy 11:13
“It shall come about, if you listen obediently to my commandments which I am commanding you today, to love the LORD your God and to serve Him with all your heart and all your soul,
Deutaronamy 11:22
“For if you are careful to keep all this commandment which I am commanding you to do, to love the LORD your God, to walk in all His ways and hold fast to Him,”
Deutaronamy 13:3
“you shall not listen to the words of that prophet or that dreamer of dreams; for the LORD your God is testing you to find out if you love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul.”
Deutaronamy 19:9
“if you carefully observe all this commandment which I command you today, to love the LORD your God, and to walk in His ways always—then you shall add three more cities for yourself, besides these three.”
Deutaronamy 30:6
“Moreover the LORD your God will circumcise your heart and the heart of your descendants, to love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul, so that you may live.”
Deutaronamy 30:16
“in that I command you today to love the LORD your God, to walk in His ways and to keep His commandments and His statutes and His judgments, that you may live and multiply, and that the LORD your God may bless you in the land where you are entering to possess it.”
Joshua 22:5
“Only be very careful to observe the commandment and the law which Moses the servant of the LORD commanded you, to love the LORD your God and walk in all His ways and keep His commandments and hold fast to Him and serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul.”
Johua 23:11
“So take diligent heed to yourselves to love the LORD your God.”
YOU may say that’s all fine and good but I only read the New Testament.
If you are that person than pay attention to what Jesus had to say to you in the New Testament.
Matthew 22:37
And He said to him,
“ ‘YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND.”
Mark 12:30
“AND YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND, AND WITH ALL YOUR STRENGTH.”
Luke 10:27
“And he answered,
“YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR STRENGTH, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND; AND YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.”
Understand this;
You are ether serving the Lord God or you are serve the world and self.
The choice is yours and you choose every day whom you will serve.
Pray you will chose wisely.
Your eternity depends on the choices you make.
It is time for the church to wake up,
Look around the world, not in fear but in wonder, for the prophecies of the Bible are unfolding before you,
If your faith is in Christ our Lord it should not bring fear to you but joy for His word is aging showing its self to be true,
and it is looking His returning could be soon.
In the next couple days we will talk about that.
If your interested in things to come from right out of the word of GOD,
straight from the mouth of Christ Jesus Himself,
then come back.
If you would like to read ahead then go read Luke 21:10-36
Out for now
May your heart mind and soul be firmly anchored in Christ our Lord, our redemer.
