Matthew 6:1-4
“Beware of practicing your righteousness before men to be noticed by them; otherwise you have no reward with your Father who is in heaven. So when you give to the poor, do not sound a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, so that they may be honored by men. Truly I say to you, they have their reward in full. But when you give to the poor, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving will be in secret; and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you."

These words of Jesus take into consideration that you are obeying the words, "love your neighbor as your self" for if you are /do then you will be helping others who are in need.
Jesus is telling us when we do so if we do it without having to let everyone know He has rewards for us, but if we have to tell others, then we already have a reward from man and miss out on the reward He has for us. man's reward is to boost our ego and only last for a little wall, rewards from Jesus are eternal, that we will have for eternity.

As a Christian you should be helping others who are on need, it is your responsibility to reach out to those in need, even a glass of water to one who is thirsty, a coat or blanket to one who is cold, a meal to one who is hungry, these things are simple for most in this country but their are those who might have food to eat but never enough to feel comforted, there may not be that many people that starve to death, but there are many who have not had a full meal in for some years.
i personally know of a elderly lady who for the last five years has lived alone and over that time she has eat less and less each month, and her straight has slowly dwindled, a few months a go someone started making sure she got three full meals a day and with in just a few days her straight, appearance and mental capacity has improved drastically, and this has taken place because someone stepped up and practiced the word of Jesus.
No one has come out and said look what i am doing,
no one has said look at me.
and their reward will be in heaven for them when they enter in to the presents of God.

And no it wasn't me. perhaps it should have been, but i didn't know what was going on until after the fact. a great flaw on my part.
thank about it, is there someone around you who is in need that you may not even be a wear of, this situation has opened my eyes, and made me much more a wear of those around me, has opened my heart to help others who are truly in need.

one thing i have over time i have learn: the ones who are truly in need (9 out of 10) will never say anything, they will not let you know, you need to pray to the Lord God to open your eyes and soften your heart to those around you,   ask what He would have you do for them, and at that point be willing to do as He asked.
Are you willing to step out and quietly treat others as you would have them treat you, are you willing to give of your self to show the love of Christ to your neighbor?
Think about it.
