When man sticks his head in the sand instead of the Lord

i have had the opportunity and experience over the last few months of being made aware of how bad we as Christians look when we deny the truth and refuse to see the truth of what takes place not only around us but of our own lives.

#1
a man who claims to be a Christian but has chosen to listen to worldly wisdom and is now looking at criminal charges after being setup to take the fall, and in this situation he still refuses to see that his worldly friends and their advice is taking him down a bad path, and if he keeps pushing could end up in jail.

#2
a man who teaches the word of God but when it comes to personnel application only applies the parts that best suit him, and refuses to see the world around him for what it is, even defending those who are evil, as the people around him he hunkers down he uses scripture as a defiance not only for himself but to the ones who are doing wrong, refusing to see the reality of the evilness of those he has chosen to consider as friends.

Putting your head in the sand is not the way to deal with sin in your life or in the world, being blind to the situations in your own life or in the world around you can and chances are will lead you down the wrong path.

In Mathew 7 we are told Matthey
¶ “Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it.
“For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it.
¶ “Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves.
“You will know them by their fruits. Grapes are not gathered from thorn bushes nor figs from thistles, are they?
“So every good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears bad fruit. “A good tree cannot produce bad fruit, nor can a bad tree produce good fruit.
“Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. “So then, you will know them by their fruits.
¶ “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter.
“Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?’
“And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; DEPART FROM ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS.’
¶ “Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them, may be compared to a wise man who built his house on the rock.
“And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and yet it did not fall, for it had been founded on the rock.
“Everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not act on them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand.
“The rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and it fell—and great was its fall.”

Both of these fellows have put them self’s in a bad and dangerous position, they are both walking down the broad path which leads to destruction and neither is willing to listen to, or see the reality of what is going on in their own lives or in the world around them

And because the one is a bible scholar this comes up
Matthew 7:12
¶ “In everything, therefore, treat people the same way you want them to treat you, for this is the Law and the Prophets.

Yes we are to treat others as we are self’s would like to be treated, so does that mean we go along with the sins of others because we don’t want anyone to comment on our sin?

i believe what it means is we are to treat everyone with respect, kindness and with love, It does not mean we put up with tolerate or take part in the sins of others we do not walk in the pathway of the sinner.

Psalms 1:1-6
¶Blessed is the man that walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sites in the seat of the scornful.
But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind drives away.
Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
For the LORD knows the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

Both of these men are walking in the path of the ungodly by listening to the twisted truth they speak,
Who do you listen to? who do you take your advice from? who do you defend and justify? who do you look to for salvation?

Is your head in the sand?
